COMTEMPLATIVE PAVILION
DESIGNING WITH ARCHITECTURAL PRINCIPLES + MATERIALITY
The second project of AD2 required me to work with 2 members from the previous project. Here, we bring out the architectural principles from our previous project and implement them into the ideas, forms and spaces generated in this project. The objective of this project is to design a contemplative pavilion while putting into account the relationship with factors for instance,  the setting, context, values,  materials, etc., in which will lead to the formation of a contemplation space. Moreover, we are to research tropical environment settings, materiality, spatial qualities and tectonics and put them into discussion and thinking. Through diagramming, architectural drawings and model-makings, we gain the ability to design a simple structure and demonstrate understandings of materiality and principles to capture experiential qualities of our design.
INTERIM
In the midst of the project, we were required to present our progress in an interim period. Our submission comprised of a DPSJ, sketches, relevant drawings, a working and a mock-up model.

Reflection

I sincerely enjoyed the time I spent working in this project whilst forming new bonds with my team members. Together, we worked in harmony and in sync, making the process a fun and smooth one. Although all of us only just met this semester, we were able to form good chemistry which translated to joyous time together. I am grateful to Ms. Alina, our tutor, for being an influential figure throughout this project and providing helpful remarks. I have also gained new insights from the feedback given by Dr. Ian, our final reviewer, which assisted me in project 3. Ultimately, I am glad to have come across my new buddies and advance to another level in my architecture journey.
